FALL in FEATHERS..

This fall's equinox - feathers rock! Feather extensions have been a fad for the two years. If you didn't know - now you do - thanks to the COCOACOSGIRL!

Sistahs.. but I personally, haven't seen you rockin the feather extension(s) - ONLY INDIAN REMY!! Maybe you just didnt know what, where, when, why or HOW!

Long or Short, Straight or Curled - the feather is VERSATILE! You can use rollers, hot curling/flat iron and ceramic hot rollers - so WORK IT LADIES...

Well, this upcoming season - OWN IT! You can rock the fall colored feathers with your Autumn wardrobe! Creams, Burnt Oranges, Tan, Browns and Deep Mustard Yellows. Make a statement with your feather extension(s).

So - I did my research on what it means to wear feathers as an accessory in your hair or on your head. This feather tradition goes way back to the Indians (all tribes). Each feather had to be earned by an act of bravery. Eagle feathers were used a lot because it was considered sacred (kind of like how we wear the cross around our necks). The Eagle's feather(s) represented the following: honesty, truth, majesty, strength, courage, wisdom, power, and freedom.

Given that you now have a little history lesson behind why feathers were worn by the Indians as an accessory - What will your symbolic feather of choice be?

You should be able to get your feather extension(s) installed at your local beauty salon, and they cost roughly $10 - $15 per extension; you may find a bundle deal at 3/4 for $35.
