Did U Know!?: The Breast Party Ever!!!! Breast Cancer Awareness...

So BET and national organization Planned Parenthood link up and throw the BREAST PARTY EVER this year at Ventana's in Atlanta, GA.

Hostess was Keisha Knight Pulliam; otherwise known as Rudy from the Cosby Show. She made some huge points on WHY BLACK WOMEN SHOULD GET CHECKED.

Early intervention can save lives and by more time here ladies!!!

As you know Atlanta is the BLACK HOLLYWOOD, so you know the venue was filled with many celebrity faces along with some supporting patrons.

Speaking of Black Hollywood, some of you may not be aware that Tasha Smith (whom I am a very big fan of); known for acting in Tyler Perry's Daddy's Little Girls, Why Did I Get Married and his hit OWN show For Better or Worse (Why Did I Get Married spin-off) is the New Celebrity Ambassador for Planned Parenthood.  She played a major part in the tribute party to Breast Cancer Awareness month.

Here's a snippet from her Key Note speech,

"When I grew up Planned Parenthood was there for me. And, when I started out as an actress, like many young professionals, I did not have health insurance so guess where I went – to Planned Parenthood for my annual exams."

Don't make not having health insurance your excuse not to get checked - go to Planned Parenthood ladies - they're there for us!  I would also encourage you to go with a someone like a sister, cousin, friend, coworker, or even your neighbor.  Remember that episode from Basketball Wives..... when Tami Roman and Evelyn  Lozada were curious to get checked and motivated to do so because their family members were diagnosed with cancer - they didn't know what to expect so they accompanied each other on that experience.  Believe it or not, they successfully got the message across to a viewer who was inspired to get checked and found out she had breast cancer.

Below you will see a still from the episode when they met with the viewer Michelle, that was inspired by the show to go get checked.  They received her letter and decided to go meet her after she had the Mastectomy (breast removal).

Planned Parenthood is there for us... Now lets be there for ourselves!

Sisters Supporting & Empowering each-other is such a BEAUTIFUL THING!
